Student Led Conferences Recap

Student Led Conferences

Our first round of Student-Led parent/teacher conferences has just been completed. We would like to extend our gratitude to our staff and to all of our parents for making this possible. With your support, we were able to provide an opportunity for our students to take ownership of their learning and behavior by sharing their achievements, challenges, and goals with you.

In a traditional parent-teacher conference, students are not as involved in the conversation about their progress. However, in STUDENT-LED conferences, students are given the chance to take responsibility for their learning and behavior. They become the focal point of the conferences, and they are given the chance to share their successes, struggles, and goals to open discussions about their learning.

We understand that some parents and even some teachers may find it challenging to adjust to this type of conference since the conversation is driven more by the student. But we want to assure you that parents still have the opportunity to engage with their child's teacher during these conferences, and you can still ask questions about your child's learning and the classroom environment and expectations.

We believe that these conferences should not be the only time when parents and teachers can interact. We hope to establish an ongoing dialogue between all teachers and parents that lasts throughout the school year.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child's education.
