Dear parents,
Greetings to our Mesa Families! The Central Consolidated School District Board of Education and Superintendent have approved students in grades Pre-K to 5th to return to school in a hybrid learning model. This model pertains to students whose parents/guardians have requested their student(s) return to the traditional classroom learning atmosphere. Under stand that all other students will continue learning remotely and safety is of the utmost for our Mesa Community!
Our school plan for re-entry is scheduled in “phases” as follows: Phase I is designated for students with an IEP, Level I performance on ISIP/IMSSA, and/or At-Risk concerns only. Hybrid Re-entry for Phase I will begin on February 16th to March 12th, roughly four weeks. If all goes well, we will
bring in the remainder of students for Phase II that will commence on Monday, March 22nd to the end of the school year. We have (68) hybrid students at this time that we confirmed on January 15th. The CCSD Transportation Department will be contacting families with students identified for Phase I this week so touch base with your child’ teacher for their start date and attendance confirmation. Please understand our plan for hybrid re-entry is subject to change based on District, State, and Navajo Nation guidance.
On another note, we will be providing a Parent Education Session on Mon day, February 8th at 6pm entitled Parenting in a Pandemic. The Zoom Link ID and Passcode can be obtained from your child’s teacher. This session is part 1 of a 2 part series. The next session will be held on Monday, March 22nd as we return from Spring Break and pickup packets on that day as well. We will have door prizes and gift cards at the end of each session and we hope you can join us! More information is provided on page 12 of this newsletter.
In conclusion, our teachers, support staff, and service providers have been working diligently to deliver the best instruction and services to all our students, and we thank you for your support. We will continue to build on what we have learned as we move to this phase of our re-entry plan. Together, with the support of our families and the community, we will work to ensure a successful and safe transition for all. Feel free to contact your child’s teacher or Principal Lee should you have any questions or concerns.
