She has been at Newcomb Middle School for five years. She attended University of New Mexico, University of San Francisco and Western New Mexico University. She has three Masters Degrees. She has had the opportunity to work in many capacities during her 43 years of work experience in education. She has worked as an educational leader at the elementary, middle and high school level for 19 years. She has work experience in the field of Special Education for 17 years. She worked as the Dean of Student Services in a post-secondary school for 7 years. All of her professional work experience has been in the Navajo Nation. She is a fluent speaker in Dine language. She understands quality school improvement processes and school accreditation. She completed the Principals Pursuing Excellence program. She brings a wealth of knowledge on how to involve all stakeholders in the educational process. She tries to give students hope when they are up against adversity and help them to keep moving forward to work towards their goals. In addition, she finds it most rewarding to support teachers as professionals in their career. She enjoys walking and quilting.
