Central Consolidated School District announces its new teacher housing project ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Central Consolidated School District is pleased to announce its ribbon-cutting ceremony of the completed housing project near the Central Office and Mesa Heights near Mesa Elementary School. The housing project sets the standard of teacher housing for the state of New Mexico. According to New Mexico Public School Facilities Authority (PSFA), the district is taking the initiative to set the trend and become a model of teacher housing for the rest of New Mexico school districts.

The housing project started its groundbreaking on April 30, 2021, and will house ten homes at Mesa Heights and five at Central Office. The ceremony will begin August 5, 2022, in Shiprock, NM, at the Central Office at 2 p.m. and move to Mesa Heights afterward. Media outlets are encouraged to bring photography/video cameras to take pictures of the ceremony. Also, district officials and board members will attend to speak with reporters and the community.

The district's goal is to recognize the teacher housing as it will impact teaching possibilities in the community and out of state. CCSD looks forward to meeting those who attend as it continues to improve teacher opportunities and provide a more outstanding education to students.
