If you have symptoms related to COVID-19
An important message from the CCSD COVID-19 Task Force

Dear community,
With the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in New Mexico, the team would like to remind you of important guidelines and recommendations we should be following to make sure our friends and families stay healthy. Let’s all do our part to minimize the spread of the virus.

You should stay home from work, contact your direct supervisor to let him/her know that you are not feeling well, and follow the directions given to you from your supervisor and the COVID-19 Task Force, if you experience any symptoms related to COVID-19, such as:

  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fever or chills
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Under the current New Mexico Department of Health order, you are required to self-quarantine for 14 days if you travel outside the state. Please ensure you are following the governor’s order.

Procedures for COVID-19 Exposure:
  • A close contact is defined as being within 6 feet or less of the infected person for a period of three minutes or longer, masked or unmasked.
  • If you self-identify or are identified as a close contact of a confirmed positive individual, meeting the above criteria, you will be placed on quarantine for a period of 14 days, whether or not you receive a negative COVID-19 test result. The incubation period for COVID-19 is 14 days, so a negative test result, with no symptoms does not mean you won’t become infected at a later time within the time period.
  • As a reminder, all personnel are expected to wear a mask while at work. The only exception to removing your mask is when you are in your own personal work space with no one in that area.

The team has received reports of staff failing to follow health orders and Department of Health guidelines for mass gatherings and out of state travel, as well as reports of staff and students going to school/work while feeling ill.

We can stress enough the importance of following all guidelines. It is important to remember that in order to diminish any spread, those who are not feeling well or have been exposed to a positive COVID-19 case do not report to school or work.

One more thing, please take careful attention to your time outside of work and gathering in large groups. We all must do our part on keeping our students and coworkers safe.

Please share.
