Central Consolidated School District News Article

Student Attendance and Failure Rates

Dear families and community,
This is the partial, raw data collected from our schools regarding attendance and failure rates as of November 17, 2020.  This information, which was presented during the Board of Education’s last regular meeting, does not include grades and other information being entered this week.

“The data highlights what is happening in our system, that being out of classrooms for almost nine months and online learning, with all its challenges for districts and families, is resulting in low attendance and alarming failure rates.  Although what CCSD is experiencing is not dissimilar to what other districts are going through, it does tell us that there is a lot of work to do still to make sure our students get the education they deserve,” said Daniel P. Benavidez, Superintendent of Central Consolidated Schools.

“Special attention should be paid to our elementary students and graduating seniors, and how we can make sure they are ready for the challenges ahead,” he added.

Central Schools will do a data analysis based on complete attendance and failure rates.
