School Re-entry for Elementary Schools

Greetings CCSD Students, Parents, and Staff,
We hope that you are staying well and healthy.  Central Schools staff has been busily preparing for students to come back in a hybrid model, and we are almost ready. The hybrid model (in-class instruction) is a response to requests from parents for in-person learning, but please note that parents have the option to take up the hybrid model or continue with virtual learning, and that our elementary schools are will be reaching out to parents.

You may have seen in the news that the number of positive cases of COVID-19 is increasing in New Mexico.  San Juan County is no exception. The CCSD COVID-19 Task Force monitors state and local criteria to make recommendations to CCSD Administration. Based on the latest information and out of an abundance of caution, Central Schools will delay school re-entry for the elementary schools until Monday, November 2, 2020.

THE PROPOSED HYBRID RE-ENTRY PLANS WILL BE IMPLEMENTED AS FOLLOWS:
October 26-27: Rostering of students with transportation.
Parents should receive confirmation of hybrid attendance and school transportation at this time. CCSD will be reaching out to parents from the local school site and from transportation to confirm these.

Parents of identified hybrid attendance will receive information specific to the re-entry guidelines for their school. The guidance will include information on school schedules, drop off, pick up, screening, recess, and more. Since each school site is unique, you will need school specific information.

October 27-28: Finalization of all plans for student attendance.
Parents, please ensure that you have confirmed hybrid instruction for your child at your school, if that is what you have chosen for your child. Make sure to keep your children free from possible COVID-19 exposure. This will ensure that we can keep the schools open to the maximum extent possible in a safe manner. There are instructions on screening prior to boarding the bus or drop off at your school site. These instructions will come from your school site administrator.  (Please use SchoolInfo App, if possible.)

November 2: "Dry Run" (a rehearsal of the procedures).  Students will run a "regular" hybrid schedule for the day. Make sure you know your school plan.
November 3: Debrief "Dry Run" (a rehearsal of the procedures).  CCSD will debrief at all open sites to refine processes and troubleshoot potential concerns. NO HYBRID INSTRUCTION.
November 4: Cleaning and disinfecting district-wide.  NO HYBRID INSTRUCTION.
November 5 and 6: Hybrid instruction per school site plans.
November 9: First full week of Hybrid Re-entry.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your school principal.

Thank you and stay safe.
