Cybersecurity Incident Affecting PowerSchool Nationwide

January 10, 2025

Shiprock, NM – Central Consolidated School District along with neighboring districts nationwide is notifying families along of a recent cybersecurity incident that impacted PowerSchool, the vendor that provides our Student Information System (SIS). 

On January 7, 2025, PowerSchool informed Central Consolidated School District along with other district across the nation that unauthorized access to certain customer data occurred. This incident may have impacted some Central Consolidated School District families and educators.

The impacted data primarily includes parent and student contact information such as names and addresses. In some cases, personally identifiable information (PII) may have been accessed, including Social Security Numbers (SSNs) and medical information. 

Central Consolidated School District is working closely with PowerSchool to determine the full extent of the impact on our school community. 

PowerSchool has investigated the incident and will provide Central Consolidated School District with further information and resources, including potential credit monitoring or identity protection services if applicable. 

Central Consolidated School District will continue to update families as more information becomes available.
