Dear Parents, Guardians, Grandparents, and Governance Commissioners:
We would like to extend our New Year's 2019 Greetings to each one of you. We feel positive that you had a wonderful time with your child/ten, family, and friends who were a part of your Christmas Holidays. Therefore, family unity and respect for self and others are truly a blessing that is essentially important for our children to inherit. And, we commend you for that.
Because of this, we are forever grateful to have your child/ren at our school to be a part of his/her teaching and learning at Naschitti Elementary School. They are precious young children who need the support from us to assist with their academic, social, and cognitive development so that they will apply their learned fundamental skills to real life application in the years to come.
Because of this, we are monitoring your child's work through the different modes of instructional Tier 1 Core practices and Tier 1 interventions. For instance, the assessment tool, among other reliable and valid progress monitoring tools used include, but is not limited to iStation for ELA and Math. The iStation is administered at the beginning of each month to ensure that our instructional practices are grasped by your child. This determines whether Tier 1 interventions with strategies are integrated into Response to Intervention so that students are given 1-1, or small group instruction. Furthermore, your child receives an abundance of peer-to-peer interaction in their respective classrooms for oral language development as they are grouped based on their abilities in ELA and Math during cooperative learning centers. Imagine Learning and iStation centers, to mention a few, are part of the technology integration during cooperative learning, along with skills in phonics and phonemic awareness as well as comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, letter knowledge, spelling, etc.
With this in mind, Naschitti Elementary School staff members, from custodians to cooks to bus drivers to teachers, are doing their best to prepare your child's educational endeavors. At the same time, we do our best to protect your child from any unforeseen and circumstantial issues and concerns that may arise within our school parameters.
If you should have any questions, please come visit us or call to the front office at Naschitti Elementary School, (505) 732-4204.
With profound appreciation,
Naschitti Elementary School Staff
