We are pleased to announce the winners of the “Say Something” poster contest. The winners are: Justyce Scott (Elementary School Category, Eva B. Stokely), Dominique Begay (Middle School Category, Kirtland Middle), and Angelita Lucero (High School Category, Kirtland Central High).
Sponsored by the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office and the Central Consolidated School District, the contest centered on promoting awareness and use of the “Say Something” app. The “Say Something” app is an anonymous reporting system, which allows individuals to report concerns 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The winners were presented with a generous prize package donated by Allen Theaters, Chick-fil-A and the Kirtland Dairy Queen. In addition, the winning posters will be displayed throughout local schools and a national newsletter.
“Thank you to all the CCSD students who submitted artwork for this contest, and congratulations to the winners. We want to raise awareness of the app and how helpful it is in keeping students safe, but also make sure we continue to create a community where we look out for one another. We hope these efforts and participation continue,” said Shaka Rucker, CCSD Safety Coordinator.
